Important changes to COS from June 2022 onwards. COS will send Providers an auto notice if they haven’t commenced their Mid-term audit at the 18 month mark. A QRG to assist registered NDIS providers navigate the new NDIS Commission Portal Inbox.  From June 2022, the Inbox will contain notifications about the following:

Registration (for registered NDIS providers)

  • Reminder to engage an auditor
  • Audit report received
  • Registration renewal reminder
  • Mid-term audit notice
  • End of registration suspension
  • Registration is expired

Worker screening

  • Notification that a worker’s NDIS Worker Screening Check status has changed e.g. from Clearance to Suspension or Exclusion
  • Worker verification requests and reminders
  • Notification that a worker’s NDIS Worker Screening Check application is cancelled or withdrawn
  • Notification that a worker’s NDIS Worker Screening Check is about to expire.

Since 1 January 2020, as a registered NDIS provider, it is a condition of your registration to notify the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commissioner of certain changes and events, especially those that substantially affect your ability to provide the supports and services you are registered to provide.

Providers can withdraw a new application in the Application Portal or a renewal application in the NDIS Commission Portal. Applications can be withdrawn while in the status of: ‘Draft’ or ‘Submitted’. Applications in the ‘In progress’ status can also be withdrawn provided the Auditor status is not in ‘Submitted to Commission’.

These principles for audit reporting form the AQA audit reporting requirements as per section 16(1) of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Approved Quality Auditor Scheme) Guidelines 2018 (AQA Guidelines).
